The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs (OVCAA), through the UP Diliman Culture Bearers-in-Residence Program organized the Pista ng Kaalaman, which consisted of two parts: (1) a two-day event from February 5 to 6, 2026 at the UP Carillon and UP Theater Grounds, during the Peryahang Diliman, that launched the UP Diliman Arts and Cultural Festival 2026”; and (2) series of workshops on February 13, 2026 at the UP Theater Main Hall Lobby entitled SICAP 2026: Sama-samang Tagumpay sa Karera (SICAP). Pista ng Kaalaman and SICAP 2026 were co-presented with the Office for Initiatives in Culture and the Arts (OICA) and the Diliman Information Office.The Pista ng Kaalaman consisted of panel sessions and workshops (Images 1-10) focused on indigenous (dunong katutubo) and local (kaalamang bayan) ontologies, epistemologies, and methodologies, including arts, food, science, traditional healing and medicine, weaving and crafting, and artistic rituals.
The SICAP 2026 comprised workshops (Image 12) on pre-employment, workplace communication, and financial literacy. The sessions aim to help isko, iska, and alumni in facing life outside the university, both in the public and private sectors.
