As part of the unit’s mechanism to strategize work targets and maintain efficiency among its members, the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Central Office (OVCAA) conducted its first pre-strategic staff meeting of the year on February 5, 2025 at Room 204 of the Diliman Interactive Learning Center (DILC).

OVCAA Pre-Strategic Staff Meeting

Presided over by the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Maria Vanessa P. Lusung-Oyzon, and attended by all administrative and Research, Extension, and Professional (REPS) staff, the meeting aimed to revisit existing work-related matters and address pending tasks, such as the renovation of the DILC Building, publication opportunities for REPS, gender sensitivity-related projects, and updates on the OVCAA website.

Moreover, the pre-strategic staff meeting provided opportunity to come up with strategies in dealing with potential challenges that may arise during the calendar year. It also served as a reminder of the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) policies and procedures that may be relevant to the staff’s work-related tasks.

Another takeaway from the meeting is the need to explicitly incorporate the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into the OVCAA Central Office’s work-related functions, including the organizing of events and workshops as well as posting related information on the Office’s website.

The pre-strategic staff meeting concluded with a “brown bag” session led by the University Extension Specialist, Ms. Mary Jane Demegillo. Having attended the ISO Awareness and Risk Management Training organized by the UPD Quality Assurance Office and Macro Vision Consultancy, Ms. Demegillo provided the OVCAA with an orientation on Educational Organizations Management System (EOMS) requirements and shared relevant information on the foundations and applications of risk management in the context of EOMS.
